It’s been over a month since she picked up that pen again.
I wonder what happened to all her adventures during that time. Do those worlds simply vanish into thin air? Or might we revisit them in a deja vu?
The horizon is adorned with colors of the rainbow, like the skies over the beach. “Or simply places with extreme moisture,” she thinks to herself. She’s not a meteorologist, but she did want to become one. In fact, back when Kyoko was young, she used to talk to the wind.
– Hello, Windy.
She would sit on the balcony, like a bird among the flowers. She was indeed a young bird, after all. With her wings neatly folded, she confided her secret wishes to the wind.
But how much of that girl was herself? Now, her wings have grown much more lustrous. Purple and green streaks of light reflect under the sun—a sign of vitality.
An upside-down bowl of rainbow entraps her, but it’s so far away she can still breathe. Everyone on the bus was still breathing. Breathtaking as it is…
The moon is there, but unfortunately, off-center. It is a beautiful half-moon. She keeps observing and taking notes.
– “As time passes by, the spherical rainbow spreads and fades away.”
She was supposed to draw the higanbana field, and the huge, languidly lilac wisteria tree that she had visited just the night before. But it’s a bus, and how crowded—lucky of her to get a seat. It is embarassing to write in front of people. All she made was a quick draft in her sketchbook, and the rainbow notes she made on her phone.
– Pretty nice, huh?
She shows me a picture of the rainbow. I wasn’t there… then.
– You’ve always liked rainbows, Kyon.
– Yeah. Only rainbows can convey my colorful personality. ♡
So she speaks, as her black wings flutter.
