The chibi-us

250316 2002

– Anyvay, time to continue vit our vurk.
– Why are you German again, Lav?

In my dreams, I saw Lav hugging two bags of ginger snacks and ginger rice cake, in the spirit of exploration. That’s when I knew I had some good dreams.

– You dream good?
– Yeah. Yeah, not bad.

I turn to see Lav. She looks bright today, like the sunrise.

Yu-lotl writes a heartfelt letter and narrates it:

– Dear Pwof, I am weally grateful to have yu in my wife.
– “life.”
– wife.

Silence…
She tried her best with her ω mouth.

– It’s been a while since we’ve last seen the chibiyu’s, huh?
– Yeah, I wonder where they went.
– They went to Heaven…
– They reside within us, as we write these silly things.

For the sake of the audience, let us enlighten yu on what a chibiyu is.

A chibiyu is a small yu, not to be confused with yu (the reader, though there is a chance that a yu is reading this.) How did all this happen? We didn’t know that we would be called a you abroad due to the lack of aspirated t’s. Purely coincidental. Besides, chibiyu’s had existed for hundreds of centiyears before Kamikyou collided with Spaghettiland. But that’s beside the point.

Anyway… We are at the level of adverbs. Below that on the atomic level are the adverb participles. In principle, that is what each chibiyu and chibikyo is: a tiny version of us who’s more expressive of their primal urges, such as a chibiyu chasing their respective chibikyo around, or a chibikyo engaging in talk with their kyo peers.

They also listen to whatever I say, so technically, I had an army of infinite chibiyu’s and infinite chibikyo’s. Although, the kyo’s are less obedient, as they tend to chatter and practice critical thunking in their own wubbawubba language. I often translate them into subtitles. Turns out, they often have very intellectual conversations, such as whether to slap me with the left hand or the right hand, or both. (That was when I was unconscious.)

Infinite, I said, but it just means that they’re inexhaustible. In reality, at most times, they appear in a flock of 100.

Ehem, an unkindness, I mean.

In contrast, chibiyu’s are instinctive creatures who mostly do skincare (at least, patting parts of their body, especially the cheek), run an ambulance (officially called a Lavulance), shout and bounce around, and hunt down their respective chibikyo. In theory, each chibiyu is paired with one chibikyo. Not like the chibikyo runs away, but sometimes the chibikyo still gets piled on by hundreds of chibiyu’s looking for their mate (until they sort things out of course). They are elements of thought, and thus don’t feel much pain from being piled on, nor are they subjected to much pain because they are adorable creatures – who dares hurt them?

– Will we manage to revive them if we describe them this well?
– I don’t know. Our mind is less disorganized than before.

As soon as I said that, there’s a conspiracy of chibikyo’s appearing in my head through some kind of lens, chatting away.

– Look! I see them! At least in a reminiscence!
– Yay! Let me go visit them.

Our brain hurts a little. But as we arrive, dozens, no, hundreds of chibikyo’s pile on top of us, and following them are the chibiyu’s piling on them as well.

– God… this is a lot of me.
– And me! ^^

Lav seems to be enjoying this a lot. She has always loved little creatures. Maybe she’s the reason why they exist in the first place.

– No, honey, it’s you.
– Me?
– I mean, both of us. All of us created this world. Now the world seems to be revolving around the two of us but… everyone’s still there. Inside of you, and me, and maybe the kids too.

I touch my heart. It’s grown pinker and more plump than before. Does that mean it’s healthy or… hey, why does it look like a pink radicchio?!

– うふふ。Must be that you want some.
– No, no, I do not!!!
– Hehehe.

Just to be clear: Ever since we washed ashore onto this land, we’ve grown to hate lettuce-like veggies, since we’re overloaded with them and barely have any favorite veggies. Of course, when spring comes, we could buy some white asparagus (ooh the money pouring from our palms) and the round zucchini, which reminds us of the baby pumpkins back home. Baby…?

– Does my fondness for babies extend to veggies, too?

I consult the doctor. Lav puts on a pair of Groucho Marx glasses, picks up a tablet and speaks authoritatively:

– Well, it could be anything, not just veggies. Ehem. Do you like the color… baby blue?
– Oh my gosh!! I love the character too!
– Hmm.

Lav sinks into careful consideration. Sounds like I might be diagnosed with something.

– Do you often get tacos from Suzu and Rin’s food truck?
– No.

Phew. I’m good.

– That was a trick question.
– Goddamnit!

I punch the vall.

Mary made a song:

– I like it when you smile. ♡
I munch on candy, nom nom nom,
Anddd it’s gone. *throws trash into the correct bin*

= *motherly claps*

Mary continues with verse 2:

– The candy lingers on my tongue.
I click my tongue and all the sweet-
ness gets swallowed.
– “Swallowed?” Are you sure? (Doesn’t sound very poetic.)
– Yes, mama Kyon. Write it down.
– Ookay.

Luotes:

– Life is like a box of chocolates. I love it, but I prefer the bar.
– Ooh god, I don’t know if that’s appropriate.
– What’s wrong with that? We’re young and happy. *tips glasses*
– Hmm. You might be right.
