Ideas for a story?

– It seems that he has lost 90% of his army.
– I love you, Mama!
– It’s me, xxxxxxx.

We will list the characters first in case we forget what happened. The designs can come later. But we will probably refer to some of the characters as their inspiration.

Anyway,

The protagonist is a knight who follows the Seventh Prince on his rebellion against his father, the King (now having an army of Bunyips and zombies because he traded his soul for dark magic.) Tall, upstanding, but fierce. He bit a Bunyip once and now his mouth is rotting. Surely some magic can fix that, but he’s in the middle of a battle so, oh well.

The deuteragonists include a mouse and cat pair who traveled from modernity to the battlefield. They are technically immortal as long as the virus-filled floppy disk where they came from is safe. They can manifest in the real world. Yes, they are like Tom and Jerry, but they work together and for some reason, they had to travel pretty far across a world filled with fruit vendors (what?), while avoiding bananas (dark-magic contaminated) and strawberries (prone to it). It’s like they were in a fast-paced running game, you might say.

Another deuteragonist is the witch who used to be a mermaid. She looks like Willow, but their personalities are nothing alike. She is realistic and goal-oriented, but kind-hearted and has a soft spot for children (okay that might be familiar, but she is a bit more motherly). She met an ice fairy (presumably locked up) when they attacked the castle (which turned out to be just a husk, where Bunyips and zombies reside). Her story arc revolves around this little fairy. The fairy can’t do much but cast snow and freeze some flies when she really tried, but the miraculous snow took her mind off the battle for a bit. The fairy found a stack of edibles in a room. She froze it to save it from flies, and the witch collects them for the tiny rebellion army. Just as they have finished collecting, a Bunyip chases after them. The witch carries both the fairy and the stash away (the fairy is the size of a small child, or a fumo-like child… yes you know which fairy we’re talking about). They went to the rooftop, and as they were trying to climb past the walls, the fairy reveals that she has spent all of her energy (what a weak fairy) and can’t follow her anymore. The witch escapes alone, in despair. Fortunately, the Bunyip is scared of holy energy, so it doesn’t gnaw on the fairy and just leaves.

They will meet again once the battle is over. But for now, they will fight the King again across the river.

A newcomer notes:

– The Prince’s army must have depleted by 90%! And we have to get past this defense…

In the castle, the knight faces The Informant, a mysterious figure who has been dropping intel for them after the wrong attack at the abandoned castle.

– I have been waiting for you.

The voice of an old woman resounds across the room.

– What are you doing in the middle of battle? Are you one of his soldiers?
– Not anymore…

The cloak is removed, revealing a weak, tormented face of an old lady. It does not fit the voluptuous body underneath at all.

– I am xxxxxxx. Your wife.
– You! I thought you had left me for another man.
– The King visited us while you were away, and when I declined to join him, I was cursed with this ugly face and lost my name. No one seemed to remember my name… but you! You remember me.
– You’re right. I have long forgotten your name. But your warmth is something I can never forget.
– I knew you would be here, so I snuck inside the castle.
– You risked your life for me!
– So did you.

And they hugged as tightly as ever.

And so there’s an awkward love triangle between the knight, his old wife and the mermaid-witch. She’s left him for quite a few years, so it got a bit awkward…
